Brian Homes, Inc. was incorporated in 1956,
by principals Anthony A. Colella and Thomas M. Colella. The company primarily
began building single family homes. The first plan consisted of twelve homes
and was located in the 31st Ward of the City of Pittsburgh. In 1964, Brian
Homes expanded into track building, which began in Vista Glen Manor, located
in Bethel Park. This plan was completed in 1985, and during those twenty years
over 800 homes were built.
In the early 1960's in conjunction with the development in Vista Glen Manor,
Brian Homes built in sub-divisions in Mt. Lebanon, Scott Township,
Baldwin Borough and Whitehall, as well as in other Bethel Park plans. During
the early 1970's Brian Homes expanded into both land development and multi-
family construction, while continuing construction of single family homes.
(Main Street Apartments, Briarwood Garden Apartments, South Park Road Apartment,
etc.) At this time Anthony Colella became inactive and Brian Colella joined
his brother, Tom, in the corporation.
In the late 1970's Brian Homes further diversified into the construction of townhouses, having completed
townhouse plans such as Logan Park and Parkview Manor in Bethel Park, Wallace Park in Whitehall,
South Union Estates in South Park, and Hidden Valley in Upper St. Clair.
Construction of single family homes continued in Bethel Green Manor, Tall
Trees, Cider Lands and Bradley Woods. |
